A 19th century plan of Mall House showing croquet and tennis lawns. It is interesting to see that the name of Richard Jones Hilton, who moved into Mall House in 1891, is written across where the station car park is today. In Wreights House next door, Mr Frederick Francis Giraud is living - either the father who died in 1866 or his son, who had the same name, who stayed on with his sisters. The railway was opened in 1858
