Last Friday, Faversham Life and many of its readers and subjects, celebrated its 10th anniversary in St Mary of Charity, Faversham’s beautiful flint church whose iconic spire is visible for miles across the marshes. It is the symbol of Faversham Life and we are very grateful to the Rev Simon Rowlands for allowing us to hold our party in such beautiful, mysterious and historic surroundings.
Since Faversham Life was launched 10 years ago, we have published 345 articles. We have written about manhole covers, eels and mathematical tiles, Saxon treasure, carnival queens and tattooed bodybuilders, gunpowder and chalk streams. We have given recipes for cocktails, patisserie and marmalade. We have walked the walks around the town, and interviewed many of Faversham’s extraordinary inhabitants. Such is the strength and variety of life in Faversham that we are looking forward to the next 10 years with no trepidation.
